2020 Recipient of the Anita’s Hope Scholarship

Anita’s Hope is pleased to award our 2020 Scholarship to Bradley Owens of Canandaigua, NY. Bradley graduated in June 2020, from Canandaigua Academy, and is now pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Scranton. This scholarship is awarded in Anita’s memory, and in hope that young people will continue to pursue important work in communities of need.

After suffering a Traumatic Brain Injury at age seven, Bradley spent his youth rebuilding his physical and mental strength. He never let this extreme setback stop him from living the life he wanted. Bradley gave back to his community through the Boy Scouts, completing his Eagle Scout Service Project by building new picnic tables for the Happiness House, a non-profit daycare for children and adults with disabilities.

Bradley represents our values of positivity, compassion, and dedication to community. He hopes to become an occupational therapist so he can help others overcome their own challenges. We are so excited to support him on his journey!
